SYNOPSIS: Imagine waking up in a snow globe… That’s how travel journalist Krista feels when she arrives in Canada to report on Quebec’s glittering Winter Carnival. Over ten sub-zero days Krista’s formerly frozen heart begins to melt as she discovers an enchanting world of ice palaces, husky dog-sledding and maple-syrup treats galore. And then she meets Jacques, a man as handsome and rugged as he is mysterious. The two share a secret that could bond them forever, if they can just get close enough to whisper it to each other. But with a Bonhomme imposter at large and a French-accented photographer getting amorous Krista, it’s not going to be plain-skating…

REVIEW: ‘As original and beautiful as a snowflake!’ CARMEN REID
OPENING LINES: I’m lying on a bed of ice. Literally a huge block of king-size ice, sculpted in the form of a hefty four-poster and polished to such a gloss and gleam it more closely resembles glass. The ceilings and walls that curve around me are made of compacted snow, creating a snug hush, the like of which I have never known. I expel white-breathed awe…
BELINDA SAYS: After 11 sun-kissed stories I can’t tell you how glorious it was to get armpit-deep in snow! The Quebec Winter Carnival proved to be my greatest inspiration to date – and not least because of the abundance of husky puppies! I’ve never been so cold or so happy as I was in that fairtyale kingdom. Plus I discovered Poutine – the Best Chips Ever ladled with gravy and cheese curds. Sounds stomach-curdling but is beyond delicious.
