Tell us about the location you chose for your SUNLOUNGER 2 story… I chose Provence. I’ve spent a lot of time in France, so know the country well. Because my short story is set on a painting course, Provence with its lavender fields, beautiful views and pretty little villages was the perfect setting.
Have your books featured any exotic destinations? There’s a very brief scene in The Naughty Girls Book Club that’s outside the UK, but I don’t want to go into too much detail otherwise it gives away part of the plot! Other than that, it’s all set in the UK, in and around Bristol. The novel I’m currently working on is set in Norfolk, with the Broads, and waterways, and windswept beaches.
If you could live anywhere in the world… I’m a bit obsessed with Italy at the moment. There isn’t a part of it that I don’t like the look of, so I could live there, and travel to every part of it, and live on delicious food and wine.
Destination you’ve returned to the most times… I holidayed in the UK a lot when I was a child, so I’ve been to the Yorkshire coast more times than I can remember, to Bridlington and Scarborough and Whitby. There’s some outstanding scenery and it’s seriously underrated. And I love the fish and chips, and the arcades too!
Ticket, passport, money and… A camera – essential for capturing those memories – and a big pair of sunglasses.
Favourite cuisine from around the world? It’s not very sophisticated, but there are some great American diners around at the moment – I love the mac n cheese, sweet potato fries, and giant chocolate milkshakes.
Favourite holiday cocktail? Sex on the Beach – cheeky!
