Tell us about the location you chose for your story… San Sebastián – it’s in the Basque region of Spain. I went there once on holiday and fell in love – the food and scenery and culture are just gorgeous. AND I saw Mick Hucknall there. Fact.
Have any of your books featured exotic locations? Sadly, only as exotic as South London! And my current work in progress is set in Windsor, so unless you are a tourist from anywhere outside the UK, that’s not super exciting. But it is fun to sit in a pub, look out the window and see Windsor Castle. Alright, Your Maj?
If you could live anywhere in the world… New York, definitely. A big posh apartment overlooking Central Park, please. I’d have bagels every day, get a cute little miniature dog and walk with Sex and the City swagger.
Which destination have you returned to the most? I’m not sure I have one, boringly! I do love all parts of Italy though – Rome, Venice, Tuscany.
Favourite cuisine of the world? I love Italian food and in particular the way the Italians eat it – they take their time, everything is fresh and made with love, they gossip and laugh and drink without rushing so much as one mouthful. That is style. Plus, they have four courses, which can never be a bad thing. Pass me the gnocchi, please.
Favourite holiday cocktail? A dark and stormy, every time. Ginger beer, rum, ice and angostura bitters. Oh, and a slice of lime.
Best or Worst holiday romance? I did once have a really miserable week in CentreParcs with an ex, but that wasn’t really CentreParcs’ fault.
