Tell us why you chose the location for your SUNLOUNGER 2 story… I chose Tuscany because few years ago my husband and I went on a cycling holiday and I have wonderful memories of incredibly beautiful scenery, glorious food and wine, romantic starlit meals – and hills. Endless bloody hills. Let’s just say that next time I won’t be cycling!
Have your books featured an exotice destinations? Oh yes. REVELRY – Ibiza; VANITY– (deep breath) Ibiza, St Tropez, Paxos, Paris, Tuscany, LA, New York, the Hamptons, Thailand and a road trip across the States! A GIRL CALLED SUMMER – Ibiza, LA, New Mexico, Mexico!
If you could live anywhere in the world… Ibiza. Because it’s beautiful, sunny and laid-back. I love the whole hippyish ‘make love not war’ thing. I love beaches. I love parties. I love parties on beaches. And I love the totally tolerant, unshockable nature of the White Isle – it’s the antithesis of curtain-twitching suburbia.
Destination you’ve returned to the most times: Ibiza (see above!). I even spent my honeymoon there. Our plans to try and ‘have a quiet one’ on the first day were scuppered by a group of strangers dressed as comic-book heroes. Much sunny merriment ensued.
Favourite cuisine from around the world? French, Italian or Indian.
Favourite holiday cocktail? Oooh tricky! I’m a bit of a tart when it comes to cocktails, mixing with gay abandon and little regard for the consequences. It depends on the country too, but overall I’d say a Margarita does its job pretty finely.
What was your best/worst holiday romance? Best: Austrian male model in Thailand. Worst: Austrian male model in Thailand a couple of days later when he transferred his attentions to my best friend. We subsequently found out he had a girlfriend in hospital with Dengue Fever the other side of the island. Lovely chap.
