Tell us about the location you chose for your SUNLOUNGER 2 story… I chose Grand Cayman – one bleak January day, the kind when the wind is howling and the rain blowing horizontally down the street, I made the fatal mistake of searching for teaching jobs in the Caribbean. As you do! Within minutes I had found a vacancy at a school in beautiful Grand Cayman and, a couple of Google clicks later, I was looking at icing sugar sand beaches, gin clear blue sea and the sort of golden sunshine I could only dream about during an English winter. One application, several flights and five thousand miles later, and here I am living in the wonderful Caribbean. Life truly can be stranger than fiction. Setting my Sunlounger 2 story here was a no brainer and I enjoyed writing every word. The dive hotel, the sea and the intense heat in Tess’s story is now a part of my story too. Watch this space for my summer novella, THE LITTLE CARIBBEAN CAFE, set on Cayman!
Have your books featured any exotic destinations? In ELLIE ANDREWS HAS SECOND THOUGHTS my heroine travels to Oahu, in the Hawaiian islands. She holidays in Honolulu on Waikiki Beach. I visited Honolulu a while back and I adored it!
If you could live anywhere in the world… I love the Caribbean! I can’t imagine living anywhere better than Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman with its icing sugar sand and clear turquoise water! Add to that the weather, kind Caymanians and stunning wildlife – what more could you want?
Destination you’ve returned to the most times? It has to the Med. I love Italy and have visited Sorrento and Positano several times. Pasta, ice cream and hot guys on scooters!
Favourite cuisine from around the world? Seafood! I adore mussels.
Favourite holiday cocktail? I could drink buckets of Piña Colada. It isn’t that alcoholic either…honestly!
What was your best and worst holiday romance? Best – meeting my Hawaiian boyfriend when I was seventeen. Worst – the awful holiday I had in Mexico with my ex-husband. I filed for divorce when I got home!
