Tell us about the location you chose for your SUNLOUNGER short story… I chose Hawaii. I spent part of my honeymoon there and aside from being absolutely breath-taking with waterfalls, volcanoes and whale-watching, it has this incredible, spiritual feel to it.
Have your books featured any exotic destinations? WICKED GAMES was set partly in Los Angeles, HEAVEN SENT was all about the perfume industry in the South of France and in RECIPE FOR LOVE, Sorrento was the backdrop for some Italian romance, with a short detour to Las Vegas.
If you could live anywhere in the world… Probably New York. I’m sure I have a rose-tinted view of it as my husband proposed there at New Year when Central Park was covered in snow and there were Christmas lights everywhere, but I do absolutely love it every time I go. The shopping is second to none and I adore all the little restaurants and cafes. It’s fast, funky and in my eyes, absurdly romantic.
Destination you’ve returned to the most times? Las Vegas, without a doubt! It’s an adult playground with great shopping, incredible food and guaranteed sunshine. I’ve been five times, I think and it tends to be a place of celebration for me. I renewed my wedding vows there at one of the most famous wedding chapels in Vegas, serenaded by with Elvis and around ten of us went recently to celebrate several 40th birthdays. Brilliant!
Favourite cuisine from around the world? Oooh, tricky. I love Indian, Japanese and Thai…but we went to Paris last year and enjoyed some incredible food there, so I’m going to go with French. That said, nothing beats a good curry…
Favourite holiday cocktail? Predictable but classic: the joy that is a Pina Colada. Or anything with champagne in it.
What was your best or worst holiday romance? I don’t have a worst one as such, but I did fall in love on a regular basis during summer holidays spent in France as a teenager!
