Tell us about the location you chose for your SUNLOUNGER 2 competition story… I have my friend Sarah to thank for the location as it was her holiday last year that gave me the inspiration for this story. Since being widowed a few years ago Sarah’s mother decided she wants to revisit places that were special to her and her husband and she is taking Sarah and the grandchildren with her. The photos from last summer’s trip to Santorini were beautiful and I felt the name itself sounds so romantic.
How did you feel when you learned your story was going to be published? To say I was surprised and delighted is an understatement and, to the delight of my two daughters, Mummy said a rude word!
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? On a tropical beach so the girls could swim in the sea while I sat on the veranda and wrote.
Destination you’ve returned to the most times… In reality it is Spain but in my heart it is Kenya. I fell in love with Kenya in 2001 and it holds a special place in my heart – especially as it is where my husband proposed to me.
Ticket, passport, money and… My family. I love seeing my girls experience new places.
Favourite cuisine from around the world? It would have to be Italian as they do the best ice cream!
Favourite holiday cocktail? As a non-drinker this would have to be a Virgin Colada!
What was your best/worst holiday romance? Sadly I’ve never really had a holiday romance but I did have a huge crush on the singer in the hotel band on a family holiday in Yugoslavia when I was 16!!
