Tell us about the location you chose for your SUNLOUNGER story… I chose Ibiza because for its hippy associations in the Sixties.
Have any of your books featured exotic destinations? Unfortunately the most exotic place I have used as a location is Mablethorpe in Lincolnshire. It is certainly a very beautiful part of the country though and the beaches are as wide and golden as any abroad, just that the sun doesn’t shine so often.
If you could live anywhere in the world… Every time I go abroad, I fall in love with the place and want to live there forever. The Canadian Rockie Mountains are just amazingly stunning and I could just see me in a log cabin churning out my literary masterpieces one after the other. But when all said and done I do love good old Blighty warts un all, my roots are firmly embedded here and I know that in a short space of time I would miss it’s little foibles and the country’s I was in start to annoy me, so I’ll stay here thank you.
Destination you’ve returned to the most times? Turkey. 6 times in all. Just love the place.
Ticket, passport, money and… Travel sickness pills and travel socks because my ankles swell up like barrage balloons on a plane!
Favourite cuisine from around the world? Any that has calorie-laden mouth-watering deserts on its menu.
Favourite holiday cocktail? If I drink anything other than vodka and tonic then I suffer with the most horrendous hangovers which can last for days. During my years I have more nights draped over the toilet that I could ever count trying to find the drink that actually likes me. I was 50 when I discovered vodka and tonic and my nights around the toilet pot where finally over.
What was your best and worst holiday romance? Am I one of the very few woman that have never had one? How sad is that.
